Model and actress Brooklyn Decker first became known for her appearances in Sports Illustrated magazine. Aside from a wildly successful modeling career, Decker has also built quite a name for herself as an actress. Check out these photos of the stunning star over the years.

Discovered at Sweet Sixteen

The blonde-haired, blue-eyed bombshell has been making waves in the entertainment industry since the early 2000s. Her first job was posing in prom dresses, designed by Mauri Simone. Talented from the beginning, the new model won an award in 2003, at the Connections Model and Talent Convention.

Modeling for Big Names

Throughout her modeling career, Brooklyn Decker has represented some huge brands. She was in campaigns for Gap, American Eagle, and J.C. Penney, and fronted the Victoria’s Secret 2010 swim collection. As well as appearing in ads, Decker posed in fashion editorials in Teen Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, and GQ.

With her stunning looks, it’s no wonder the model has also graced the covers of Esquire and Flare, among others. During her time with Sports Illustrated, the model also hosted a 2007 behind-the-scenes TV special.

Brooklyn the Basketball Fan

A massive sports fan, Brooklyn Decker joined the cast of Sports New York to discuss the 2010 NCAA basketball tournament. The model and actress is an enthusiastic fan of the college basketball team, North Carolina Tar Heels. She also supports NFL’s Carolina Panthers.

Considering that she’s such a huge sports fan, it should be no surprise that Brooklyn Decker’s English bulldogs are named after sports icons. One is named Billie Jean — and the other, Bob Costa.

She Says, Z Says

Since she’s an avid sports fan and worked with Sports Illustrated, Decker had a recurring feature on the magazine’s website. The feature, named “She Says, Z Says,” showed the model discussing NFL games with sportswriter and former footballer Paul Zimmerman — known as Dr. Z.

Dr. Z was a regular contributor to the Sports Illustrated website, writing his weekly “Power Rankings” column.

Bitten by the Acting Bug

Bitten by the acting bug, Brooklyn Decker started off with uncredited roles in movies The Devil Wears Prada and Solitary Man. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the aspiring actress was often cast as a model. She played one in action-comedy TV series Chuck, and in the comedy series, Royal Pains.

Decker played an attractive assistant in the dramedy series, Ugly Betty, and made appearances in several music videos. Keep your eyes peeled for the model in videos from Jimmy Buffett, and 3 Doors Down.

Germany’s Next Topmodel

Brooklyn Decker pops up in all sorts of media, and across a variety of genres. In 2010, the model and actress appeared as a guest judge on the fifth season of the reality competition series, Germany’s Next Topmodel. Based on the American series fronted by Tyra Banks, the German version is hosted by model Heidi Klum.

When Decker appeared on the show, she assisted the aspiring models during a beach photoshoot with artist Michel Comte. In the same episode, actress Eva Longoria and jewelry designer Tarina Tarantino appeared.

Breakout Star to Watch Out For

Following her time as a Sports Illustrated cover girl, Decker’s star was on the rise, and people were noticing. With two upcoming movie roles, the aspiring actress was on MTV’s 2011 list of “Breakout Stars to Watch Out For.”

Some other recognizable faces appeared on the list that year when they were still considered rising stars. Alongside Decker were Asa Butterfield, Lily Collins, Claire Foy, Dave Franco, Greta Gerwig, Rooney Mara, and Zoë Kravitz. 2011 was a pretty star-filled year!

Just Go With It

Following her uncredited appearances as a model — in 2006 and 2009 — Brooklyn Decker landed a juicer movie role. The model acted alongside Jennifer Aniston and Nicole Kidman in the 2011 Adam Sandler produced rom-com, Just Go With It. The movie was based on 1969’s Cactus Flower, which is based on a French play.

Brooklyn played Palmer Dodge, a sixth-grade math teacher who falls for Sandler’s character. Unfortunately, the movie was a flop and won the Golden Raspberry Awards for Worst Actor, and Worst Director.

Brooklyn on a Battleship

In 2012, Decker nabbed the leading role of Samantha Shane in the military sci-fi movie, Battleship. Based on the classic board game, the movie follows the crew of a small group of warships as they battle alien naval fleets. Decker’s character is a physical therapist and the daughter of a naval officer.

While preparing for the movie — which was shot in Hawaii, and aboard battleship USS Missouri — Decker traveled to medical hospitals and worked with injured troops. As with her previous film, this project was a major flop.

What to Expect When You’re Expecting

In the same year that Battleship was released, Brooklyn Decker starred in parenting comedy What to Expect When You’re Expecting. The actress was part of an ensemble cast, made up of some major Hollywood royalty. Co-stars included Jennifer Lopez, Cameron Diaz, Anna Kendrick, and Chris Rock.

The film, based on a book of the same name, follows five couples as they navigate parenthood. Decker portrayed the younger wife of Ramsey, played by Dennis Quaid. Another poorly reviewed film, this movie is rated 23% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Friends With Better Lives

In 2014, Brooklyn Decker signed up for a multi-camera sitcom entitled Friends With Better Lives. The series was created by Dana Klein and was unfortunately canceled after only five episodes. Of the 13 episodes that were filmed, only eight have since been aired, and the remaining five were released on DVD.

As the title suggests, this sitcom followed six people who think their friends have better lives than them. The show also starred Dawson’s Creek actor James Van Der Beek, and Life in Pieces actress Zoe Lister-Jones.

Starring in Stretch

Brooklyn Decker guest-starred in sitcoms New Girl and The League, and continued to land movie roles. In 2014, the actress starred in the comedy-crime film, Stretch alongside Patrick Wilson, Ed Helms, Chris Pine, and Jessica Alba. Decker played the lead character’s ex-girlfriend.

It seems that Brooklyn Decker doesn’t have much luck when it comes to movie roles. This film was supposed to be released in 2014, but was pulled and then released as video on demand. However, Stretch got an 88% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Godfather of Mumblecore

For her next big-screen role, Brooklyn Decker went in a different direction, choosing a part in indie rom-com Results. Written and directed by Andrew Bujalski – known as the Godfather of Mumblecore – the film starred How I Met Your Mother actress Colbie Smulders, Sixteen Candles actor Anthony Michael Hall, and Sneaky Pete actor Giovanni Ribisi.

The film follows two personal trainers whose lives are thrown into chaos by a new, wealthy client. It has a score of 83% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Grace and Frankie

Without a doubt, one of the most successful projects Brooklyn Decker has been part of is Netflix hit Grace and Frankie. The comedy follows two unlikely friends, played by veteran actresses Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda.

Decker plays Mallory Hanson, the youngest daughter of Michael Sheen and Jane Fonda’s characters. The series premiered in 2015 and is scheduled to film its final season in 2021. Though season one had a rating of 57% on Rotten Tomatoes, since the third season, it has had 100%.

Lilly in Lovesong

For 2018’s Lovesong, Brooklyn starred alongside Hunger Games: Catching Fire actress Jena Malone, Logan Lucky actress Riley Keough, and New Amsterdam actor Ryan Eggold. The movie was directed and co-written by Korean-American filmmaker So Yong Kim.

In the film, neglected stay-at-home mom Sarah takes off on an impromptu trip with her daughter and her best friend. Along the way, relationships change, and Sarah eventually has to rebuild their connection. This female-directed LGBTQ movie scored 82% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Brooklyn in Band Aid

Brooklyn first met Zoe Lister-Jones when they starred together in the ill-fated sitcom, Friends With Better Lives. In 2017, Decker starred in Band Aid, a film written and directed by Lister-Jones. Amazingly, as well as having a female director — still unusual in Hollywood — Band Aid had an all-female crew.

The comedy-drama follows a married couple who try to save their marriage by turning their arguments into songs. Starring The Mindy Project’s Adam Pally, it’s rated 85% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Support the Girls

For her next movie role, Decker returned to the Godfather of Mumblecore, Andrew Bujalski. 2018’s Support the Girls follows the daily struggles of a group of women working at a sports restaurant. Decker played Kara O’Shanahan, alongside Orange Is the New Black’s Lea DeLaria, and Scary Movie scream queen Regina Hall.

Support the Girls won several awards and has a high score of 91% on Rotten Tomatoes. In particular, Regina Hall was praised for her role as Lisa Conroy, the restaurant’s manager and mother figure.

Celebrity Family Feud

Obviously, in today’s media landscape there are more than just movie roles and sitcom guest spots. Like many other celebs, Brooklyn Decker has appeared on numerous reality and game shows, including Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and Hollywood Game Night.

Lip Sync Battle

Brooklyn Decker and athlete Andy Roddick competed against each other for a 2019 episode of the musical competition series, Lip Sync Battle. The show – which started off as a segment on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon – shows celebrities battling each other by lip-syncing along to a song.

In the season five episode, Brooklyn Decker performed Cypress Hill’s “Insane in the Brain” and Beyoncé’s, “Sorry.” Roddick lip-synced to “Total Eclipse of the Heart” by The Dan Band and “Finesse” by Bruno Mars ft. Cardi B.

For now, Brooklyn Decker is spending time with her family, and posting lots of updates on social media, although she does like to keep somewhat private. Touching on the subject, she said, “What is out on the internet is our digital footprint and it’ll be our background check in the future.”
