Those with a sweet tooth often find it hard to resist any sugary snack placed in front of them, and the idea of visiting Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory would be their ultimate dream. Fortunately, these candy-lovers are in for a real treat, since their dream can soon become a reality, thanks to the Sugar Factory.
Known for their popular candy, the store is bringing their very own Museum of Candy to New York City this summer. Sweet fanatics, and Instagram enthusiasts alike, will be able to explore the 30,000-square-foot museum where they will find 15 experiential rooms, each with its own candy theme.
The idea came from Sugar Factory founder Charissa Davidovici and her team when they realized how guests at their stores were so excited to take pictures in front of the life-sized Candy Dot wall.
The museum will also be a dessert marketplace with over 20 vendors, a full-service restaurant, and an outdoor Sugar Factory café. Visitors will be able to pose in front of the world’s largest gummy bear, after enjoying learning about the history of candy and getting to enjoy the sugary treats themselves.
Do not think this is similar to the Museum of Ice Cream either; the Museum of Ice Cream first opened in New York City in July 2016 and welcomed guests for just one month before moving on. The Museum of Candy will be a permanent fixture, and Davidovici already has plans to open even more locations in other cities.
The founder of the candy store explained, “New York City is the perfect location to open our first museum, it’s the epicenter of entertainment — we can’t wait to share this concept worldwide.”
The giant gummy bear and the rest of the Museum of Candy will officially welcome guests this summer, and it is bound to be seen all over your Instagram feeds from the moment it opens its doors.
