Follow this quick and easy recipe to prepare this delicious delight for your family and friends.
Ingredients (For 12 Servings):

1 cup yellow cornmeal 1 cup all-purpose flour 1 cup milk 1 egg 3½ teaspoons baking powder 1/3 cup vegetable oil 1 teaspoon salt 2/3 cup white sugar
Method
Preheat the oven to 200oC or 400oF. Lightly grease or spray a 9-inch round cake pan. You can also make the bread in a rectangular cake pan or one in any of your favorite shapes. A muffin tin is another great option for baking individual-sized sweet cornbread.
Take a large bowl and combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Then mix in vegetable oil, milk, and egg. Keep stirring until everything gets well combined.
Then pour the cake batter into the prepared pan or muffin tin molds. Bake for 20-25 minutes. After that time is up, check by inserting a toothpick into the center of the loaf. If it comes out clean, your delicious sweet cornbread is ready. And if not, give it another 5-7 minutes before taking it out. Cut the freshly baked sweet cornbread loaf in wedges or squares. Serve it warm with jam, butter, cream, honey, maple syrup, or any other condiments of your choice.
