2019 is the year that many of us have the same goal: to save the planet. While some big brands have already made a host of changes, it seems that Nestle is about to join the list. The company is bringing in packaging for candy that is both good for the environment and fun. What more could we need?

A New Packaging
Nestle is trialing a new alternative packaging in Japan for their mini KitKats. The twist? They are made entirely from paper. If the test goes to plan, then it won’t be long before the company plans on extending the packaging to the rest of their products, as well as taking it around the world.
Plenty Of Uses
It turns out there are plenty of uses for the new packaging. Nestle wants to stop people from living in a disposable world, so the company has printed instructions onto the packaging about how it can be folded into origami. If you don’t want to play with your paper, then it can merely be placed in a recycling bin instead.

Changing Their Ways
Many companies have already changed many of their products in the hope of reducing waste in the world, and now it looks as though Nestle wants to help pave the way for a new way to package candy bars. The company hopes to be using 100% reusable and recyclable packaging by 2025, with the paper packaging apparently being just one of the ideas.
Nestle admit they hope to save 380 tons of plastic every year thanks to their new packaging. Many can’t wait to see the idea spread across the rest of the world. After all, what could be better than saving the world and having fun at the same time? Plus, we’re sure many people will be willing to step up as product testers.
