Do you get a special kind of rush when you hear the buzz of a mixer or sense the aroma of freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies? Well, we have good news for you: The Great American Baking Show recently announced it’s on the lookout for its next amateur baker star. If you’re a baker, this could be your big break – or your big bake! What are the requirements to apply? Stick around to find out!
How to Apply for the Baking Show

The form for the 2020 edition of the baking program consists of 75 questions covering everything from your name, occupation, and education to more baking-oriented inquiries, such as who taught you how to bake, how long you have been doing it for, your signature cake, and even a bit about some of your past baking disasters (because there’s nothing like learning from your mistakes). At the end of your application, you have to upload a picture of yourself and one of your baked goods.
Why You Should Consider It
As long as you are over 18 years of age, a U.S. resident, fall into the amateur baker section (you’ll find more details about it in the application form), and have unabated enthusiasm for baking, you have absolutely nothing to lose by applying for the show. Winning a spot among the 10 contestants is not just about competing with others, rather, it is also about trading know-how and learning from the best, a.k.a. the judges. There hasn’t been an official announcement yet as to who will judge the baked goods in the upcoming season, but former judges included award-winning pastry chef Sherry Yard and celebrity chef Paul Hollywood.
So, Do You Have What It Takes?

If you’re tempted to become America’s next best amateur baker, put on the apron, start practicing, and don’t forget to submit your application before the deadline!
