Every year, we forget what good still awaits us as the post-most-wonderful-time-of-the-year blues sink in. And every year, we’re pleasantly surprised to find those sashed-up youngsters and stocked-up tables outside of our grocery stores when we were least expecting it.

And this year, they have a surprise for their fans…

Meet Lemon-Up.

It’s a delicious cookie, but it’s also so much more. Since the Girl Scout organization was founded back in 1912, it had a mission: to encourage young girls to try new things and chase their dreams, and give its participants chances to do just that. And this new cookie is no exception.

The Lemon-Up is a sweet, glazed lemon cookie, but it’s also a true representation of the Girl Scout initiative. In addition to its bold new flavor, this cookie will do what no other Girl Scout cookie has done before – including various baked messages of inspiration and encouragement on the surface of each cookie.

Among the eight phrases featured are included some such as “I am a go-getter” and “I am an innovator.”

It’s a new year, with a new resolution for all of us – whether we want it or not.

The Today Show got the tasty inside scoop from Stewart Goodbody, senior director of communications and external affairs at Girls Scouts of the USA: “We wanted to keep the same lemon flavor consumers know and love but introduce a new take on it, complete with messages inspired by Girl Scout Cookie entrepreneurs!”

Definitely an idea worth digesting!
